Who We Are
The Newfoundland and Labrador Council of Health Professionals (NLCHP) is a professional regulatory body that exercises authority delegated by the Provincial Government of Newfoundland and Labrador through the Health Professions Act (2010) for Acupuncturists, Audiologists, Dental Hygienists, Medical Laboratory Technologists, Laboratory Health Professionals, Midwives, Respiratory Therapists and Speech-Language Pathologists.
NLCHP’s regulatory responsibilities include the following:
- support the quality and safety of health services;
- enhance public protection;
- improve patient safety and strengthen the regulatory system; and
- facilitate patient-centered interprofessional collaboration and care.
