Medical Radiation Technologists
What is an MRT?
An MRT is a healthcare professional that uses ionizing and non-ionizing radiation, magnetic fields and other energy forms in the provision of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to achieve optical health, wellness, and functional performance in the human body.
Use of Reserved Titles
In Newfoundland and Labrador, only registrants with the NLCHP and NLCMRT can use the following titles and practice in the following areas. To verify if a healthcare professional is a registered MRT or XHP, reference the List of Registered MRTs on the homepage.
- Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT)
-Radiological Technology (R)
-Radiation Therapy (T)
-Nuclear Medicine Technology (NM)
